The Principal Director is a registered soil surveyor in the Victorian Mallee as well as the adjoining area of southwest New South Wales and has undertaken numerous soil surveys for the irrigated horticultural industry within the region. The soil surveys for irrigation include routine description of the soil profiles as well as crop suitability advice. Ian has also developed a hybrid walnut rootstock variety at his Birdwoodton property with outstanding tolerance to calcareous soils and can advise on the use of the correct walnut rootstock for differing soil types.
